SPORTSCO, located in Dublin 4, has been chosen by NTC as the new facility for Ireland’s most recognised National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies, and Personal Training course. Delivered by the National Training Centre, students now have the option to study courses on Dublin’s southside of the city. NTC’s educational committee sent a team of experts to view and assess the facilities as part of the decision making process. “The equipment required for the delivery of NTC’s National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training is very specific and our team of experts were very impressed with the high standards we have seen at SPORTSCO” , said NTC Course Coordinator, Fidelma Conlon.

SPORTSCO Leisure Centre in Dublin 4 comprises a large gym, with state of the art equipment, 25m swimming pool, sports hall, fitness studios, tennis and squash courts and 5-a-side soccer pitches. Located on a 4-acre site at South Lotts Road, close to Shelbourne Park Greyhound track and the Gasworks, SPORTCO represents a modern facility where students can get the highest level of training using a world class facility to enhance their learning experience and prepare them as Ireland’s best trained health fitness instructors.

SPORTSCO was established in 1979 and its commitment to continual improvement, along with almost 40 years’ experience, has ensured its position as one of the leading leisure facilities in Ireland.

NTC is Ireland’s longest established training provider in the health fitness industry with a reputation for training the best instructors and personal trainers nationwide. From Australia to Canada, the UAE to USA and from Asia to Europe, NTC graduates enjoy a reputation that gets them the job.

NTC courses offer the most comprehensive training available ensuring NTC graduates step into the fitness world qualified in the broadest range of skills uniquely including group fitness, gym instruction, kettlebell training and personal training. SPORTSCO has been a long-time supporter of NTC where shorter CPD courses have been running for a number of years such as National Qualifications in Indoor Cycling and Strength and Conditioning for Personal Trainers.

NTC graduates are highly sought after by employers and managers, in Ireland and abroad, as industry professionals know that when learners successfully complete NTC courses they are fully equipped to do the job with the interpersonal skills and knowledge required of a fitness instructor and personal trainer.

Global trends indicate that the younger generation are becoming more conscious about their health. Aside from choosing a healthier diet, more people are now participating in regular exercise and physical activities. This is great news for health fitness professionals because this means that more people are going to enroll in fitness classes and gyms or hire personal trainers.

Since the pandemic the health fitness industry is showing signs of increased growth and like many other sectors, good staff are hard to find. Gyms, health clubs, sports complexes and leisure facilities require skilled and knowledgeable staff who can do the job and currently there is a shortage of NTC graduates to fill those positions.

In Ireland, while there are other training providers, it can be confusing and difficult for students to choose the correct provider that is right for them. NTC is the longest established course provider and is recognised within the industry as the leading innovator in health fitness education.
