Brian who primarily teaches our visiting TuD students, is a dedicated and skilled sports scientist and lecturer who is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others.

About Brian

Brian is a highly qualified and experienced sports scientist who has made a significant impact in the field of sports performance. He completed a BSc in Sport Science and an MSc in Sports Performance at the esteemed University of Limerick, setting a strong foundation for his career in the sports industry.

Brian has worked with elite athletes at the highest level of sport. He spent a year in Australia, where he served as a sport scientist for the West Coast Eagles during their successful AFL grand final campaign. His invaluable experience working with top athletes has honed his skills and expertise in sports performance and helped him develop a keen understanding of what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

In addition to his work in sports science, Brian has also worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Limerick, where he shared his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of sports scientists. Currently, he is a respected lecturer in Portobello Institute’s Sports Department, where he teaches a range of subjects, including Human Physiology, Biomechanics, and Strength and Conditioning.

As part of his teaching responsibilities, Brian leads the instruction of key modules for the fitness instructor and personal training courses for 2nd year TUD students at NTC. His teaching expertise spans across various areas, including resistance training, anatomy and physiology, and health-related activity. His engaging and supportive teaching style creates a positive learning environment that helps students to thrive and achieve their academic and professional goals.
