This CPD course will provide qualified gym instructors and personal trainers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to conduct health screening and fitness assessments to recognised protocols.
This CPD course will provide trainers with the skills required perform a range of physical fitness assessments and evaluation methods to inform programme design and encourage clients to participate and adhere to an exercise programme.

The Fitness Assessment and Evaluation course covers all relevant areas including:
- Rationale for using specific tests and their pros and cons for the individual being assessed
- Environmental considerations for conducting tests, equipment required and how to prepare and organise the various tests for clients
- Methods for collecting, analysing and interpreting test results
- Collection and analysis of information gathered from health screening
- The need for and methods of obtaining informed consent
- Plan and prepare an appropriate fitness evaluation for a client
- Conduct a range of physical fitness assessments and evaluate the outcomes
- Conduct a range of assessments on a client including weight and height, bioelectrical impedance, skin-fold testing, body circumference evaluation, BMI, waist-to-hip, cardiovascular tests, muscular endurance and strength tests.

The standard cost of the Fitness Assessment and Evaluation course is €145.00.
The discounted rate for graduates of the National Qualification in Exercise, Health Studies and Personal Training is €125.00.
- eligibility

This course is a continuing professional development course for qualified health fitness professionals and it is the responsibility of each individual applying for the course to check whether their primary fitness instructor qualification meets the eligibility requirements and is approved by REPS Ireland.
A copy of your primary fitness qualification must be scanned and emailed to info@ntc.ie prior to the course starting date.
Professional Indemnity Insurance cover is only valid if you hold a valid, industry recognised primary qualification at minimum EQF Level 3 in fitness instruction.
